Local SEO stats of interest to business owners
While reading some current SEO news I found two worthwhile stats for Business owners focusing on a defined geographic market:
- According to Google almost 50% of all searches have a local focus.
- 87% of consumers research online before buying in person at a store, according to Credit Suisse.
These facts are incredibly important to any business hoping to attract local clients online. Potential customers are researching for services online, before a salesperson gets to talk to them.
In fact, if a business website isn’t able to attract customers it is unlikely that it will be able to (1)convert them into clients or (2)bring them in to your business.
It is important for small Business owners to understand the importance of SEO (search engine optimization) and how it impacts small business. The old mindset of drawing customers from a close geographical area is no longer valid.
Clients are able to get information from anywhere and local businesses are able to both present their value to local clients, and attract clients from a much larger area. SEO can expand the reach of any local business as well as give the business a stronger presence in their own area.
