Joshua Waller Selected as One of Business London’s 2021 Twenty in Their 20s

We are thrilled to share that Joshua Waller, Digital Marketing Manager at Ontario SEO, has been selected as one of Business London’s 2021 Twenty in Their 20s. Over the summer, Business London was on a search for the brightest, boldest, and most impressive local twenty-somethings making waves in our community. Joshua was nominated by a colleague and chosen by four judges as an innovator and trailblazer, dedicated to helping others and improving London.  

Where It All Began

Joshua originally went to school for makeup where he led a successful career in film and fashion. It is when he returned to London to take Business Marketing at Fanshawe College that he learned of his passion for everything digital. He was part of a consultancy program where he was given a budget to grow a local London business. Joshua dove into the world of digital for this project, setting up email marketing, social, and Google Search Ads for his client. The campaign was a success and Joshua was on a road to a newfound career. He continued to pick up freelance work on the side, which is where he grew his passion for local businesses.

Joshua & His Passion for London Businesses

In his downtime, you can catch Joshua at local London shops like Heroes, Mana Lounge, Uber Cool Stuff, or Attic Books. It only makes sense that Joshua’s love for local seeped into his work at Ontario SEO. In the spring of 2020, when so many businesses were forced to move online, Joshua and Ontario SEO ran the “We Are Here” campaign. Local businesses who were struggling with online visibility could reach out for a free Google Business Profile (formerly known as Google My Business) audit and receive recommendations on how to use Google Business Profile to the fullest potential. Joshua shared his knowledge with many industries who benefited from his skills – from restaurants and insurance brokers to a martial arts school and contractors (to name a few).

Community Engagement

Joshua has always had a knack and a drive to help others. He has run seminars through TechAlliance where he taught entrepreneurs to use Google Business Profile and seminars through Fanshawe where he taught students and recent graduates about Google Search Ads and having a career at a digital agency.

When asked for his secret to getting where he is today, Joshua says without hesitation: hard work – a person must put in the hours!

This specifically rings true in his industry where the landscape is constantly changing and doesn’t come with a manual to reference. Joshua also credits having great connections and mentors as key (Joshua sends a shout-out to Wayne Atkinson and Michael Ramsey!)

Joshua thrives when there are difficult challenges to tackle, and he needs to build a strategy and produce results for his clients. He loves seeing the impact of his work and presenting positive outcomes. Joshua’s openness to new ideas and collaboration, and his focus on team and clients make him a great fit at Ontario SEO.
