The month of December saw the release of the new WordPress core version 5.0. This version, nicknamed “Bebo”, is the first version of WordPress to include the brand new “Gutenberg” editor. This editor brings an entirely new experience to text-editing in WordPress and provides a more flexible way to control how content is displayed on the page. Unfortunately, there is a chance that the new text editor may cause some problems with certain WordPress themes and plugins, especially older ones that have not been maintained.
The good news is that WordPress will still be supporting the classic editor until 2021, and it can easily be enabled by installing the “Classic Editor” plugin. We are currently working on updating our client’s WordPress websites to version 5.0 and testing its functionality and compatibility with certain themes and plugins.
