Vehicle Listings on GBP Now Available for All US-Based Dealerships.

In January, Google announced that US-based vehicle dealerships can now list inventories on their Google Business Profiles (GBP). Previously, this feature was only available for US car dealerships, meaning dealers who offer motorcycles, RVs, powersports, and commercial vehicles (i.e. any vehicle with a Vehicle Identification Number) can now showcase their inventories on their GBP listings as well.

About Vehicle Listings on GBP

In case you haven’t heard of this GBP feature before, Vehicle Listings allow dealerships to display the vehicles they have for sale by uploading their inventory data to Google’s Vehicle Listings Partners Portal. Once approved and enabled on a GBP listing, potential customers can search and filter through the business’s inventory as well as learn more information about those vehicles such as the availability, pricing, key features, etc.

How to Sign Up for Vehicle Listings on Google

  1. Go to the Vehicle Listings Partner Portal and sign in with your Google Account.
  2. Once you have access to the portal, share your data with Google and finish the steps on the page to start showing your vehicle inventory.
  3. Upload your feed, a file that contains the vehicles you want to list, in a CSV format and ensure that it includes your store code, dealership name, postal address, as well as your Google Places ID or Google Maps URL (see example feed for details).
  4. After submitting your inventory, review the results of the processing on the partner portal which shows the status of each feed upload. Note: your feed can take a few hours to process fully.
  5. When you’re ready to show your vehicles on Google, navigate to your GBP listing, click edit profile and then click vehicle listings.

Vehicle Listings Guidelines

Google outlines that there are a few guidelines that dealerships will want to follow to minimize delays in processing, including:

  • Only include vehicles with a valid Vehicle Identification Number.
  • If vehicles aren’t located at the dealership, mark vehicles as IN_TRANSIT or SHIP_TO_STORE.
  • Upload high-quality images without watermarks, promotional content, or other branding information.
  • Ensure data meets all of the requirements in the feed specification

If you are a dealership in the U.S., you definitely won’t want to miss out on these features that could help attract a larger number of customers to your showroom.
